Brynhonddu is located on the Eastern Edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park within a large managed estate and we take our responsibility to the environment very seriously.
The grounds are covered by a Blanket Preservation Order on the trees, of which we currently have 51 different species, and we keep one third of our grounds wild in order to encourage wildlife and support the 47 species of bird currently found.
Our environmental philosophy includes planting more trees and using local produce wherever practical for our guests’ breakfasts as well as re-using or recycling the large proportion of any waste generated within the business.
We are regularly inspected and have been awarded Silver in the Green Tourism Business Scheme for our commitment to effective environmental management.
Our energy needs are minimised with solar heated water used for all washing when available and we are currently investigating the possibility of further energy generation within the site working with local energy groups.
We endeavour to provide only natural products sourced from our own chickens and from local producers wherever possible for our guests' breakfasts and we re-use and recycle throughout our business wherever we can. We regularly review our environmental policy with the latest version available to view by Clicking Here
